The Aretha Franklin Project
With this project, there is more that is in store. We had to create three album covers, a timeline, an invitation, a poster, and finally something to put all of these items in. To start with the album covers I went and did research and decided to base the covers off of the years when she was most popular. The 60s, the 70s, and the 80s. From there I wanted to think of something that could differentiate all three, so I decided to look at patterns and backgrounds from the different time periods. With that, I combined all of the designs that I used for the covers for the invitation, poster, and timeline. Now with making the container for all of these I wanted it to be something that was known as Aretha. While doing research I found out that she mostly wore feathers, pearls, diamonds, lace, and glitter in so that’s what I included on the box and ta-da!
Each picture is from each time period as well.
The fonts also relate back to the time period on each album cover.
Even the colors go back to the different outfits that she wore during that time period.
